LED

Ayako and I are collaborating on costumes for her dance in High Zero, and we are talking about using LEDs sewn into costumes and lighting up filament threads.

I am thinking about 3011, and that LEDs might be used for stylistic and utilitarian aspects of clothing very prevalently by then.

Perhaps, if I get the hang of using them, I can incorporate light and sound technology into the 3PO costumes. My idea is not to make "futuristic"-looking costumes, but to use these technologies to play the two sides (libertine and technocrat) off one another symbolically IN the costumes.

Just a seed of a thought....

Macheath character research

the fan is an example of personalizing/humanizing of technocracy and its items. the fan is beautiful, carfully crafted, and stores energy during the day to become soft indoor lighting at night. its craft causes its owner to hold it more precious than a regular, paper fan or little bits of plastic technology.

Perhaps the costume for macheath can have similar elements of personalization of technocratic standards.
